Painting On Ice!
I knew when I researched this activity that my toddlers would LOVE this activity, but that my 8 and 10 year olds would be dubious at first, and I was proved correct...
YOU'LL NEED

Paint or Food Colouring
Water
Bowl
Paint Brush
Tray
Freezer!
PREP TIME: Overnight + 5 minutes
ICE:
Fill some bowls with water and freeze them overnight.
PAINT:
Ad 10ml liquid food colouring to 50ml water to use as paint; OR
Finger paint (store bought or see recipe in our blog post HERE); OR
Use Waterpaint
PLAY INVITATION:
Get everything ready and let your toddler or child discover it by themselves!
AND HERE IT IS:
BABIES:
Let them touch and explore the paint and ice with their hands and feet.
Make sure they don't play too long! The intense cold can become painful.
VARIATION: Put the paint/food colouring into the water before you freeze it for a more contained mess.

TODDLERS:
Teach them about colours and how primary colours mix together.
VARIATION: Freeze items into the ice!
OLDER KIDS:
They might be sceptical at first, but it soon turns into fun!
VARIATION: Give them some salt to pour over the ice while painting. It makes cool craters and bumps to paint.
I know this will be loads of fun!
